Anthem Firewise Resources and Tips

 

The following websites provide some helpful information on how you can be Firewise.

Recognizing that wildfire is a potential threat to all of us in Anthem, The Anthem Community Council, Anthem Country Club Community Association, the Parkside Community Association, The Village at Anthem, Daisy Mountain Fire District, City of Phoenix Fire Department, Arizona Forestry Division, and Firewise Communities/USA have joined to support the initiative to qualify Anthem as a designated Firewise Community. The Arizona State Forestry Division provides for the prevention and suppression of wildland fires on state and private lands located outside of incorporated municipalities. http://www.azsf.az.gov

 

The National Firewise Communities program is a multi-agency effort designed to reach beyond the fire service by involving homeowners, community leaders, planners, developers, and others in the effort to protect people, property, and natural resources from the risk of wildland fire before a fire starts. The Firewise Communities approach emphasizes community responsibility for planning in the design of a safe community as well as effective emergency response, and individual responsibility for safer home construction and design, landscaping, and maintenance. http://www.firewise.org
